Dr. Thy Nguyen (“Dr. T” to his staff and patients) was born in Vietnam. He moved to the United States when he was eight years old and grew up in Gaithersburg, Maryland. After earning his Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from The George Washington University, Dr. Nguyen received his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of Maryland Dental School in Baltimore. He graduated in the top of his class, was selected for the Gamma Pi Delta Prosthodontic Honor Society, and was elected president for the Gorgas Odontological Honorary Society, a merit-based organization.
Dr. Nateghi is passionate about providing exceptional dental care with a focus on patient comfort and delivering high-quality results. He offers a wide range of services, from preventive care to cosmetic dentistry and dental implants, helping patients achieve both optimal health and a confident smile. Dr. Nateghi believes in personalized treatment and creating a welcoming environment where patients feel at ease throughout their dental journey.
Outside of the office, Dr. Nateghi enjoys an active lifestyle, including playing tennis, cooking, hiking, and spending quality time with family. He is committed to helping each patient enjoy a healthy, beautiful smile and look forward to welcoming you to the practice.
Dr. Sophie Choi earned her bachelor’s degree from the University of Virginia and went on to work at the National Institutes of Health, where she developed an interest in dentistry through researching salivary gland dysfunction. She then earned her Doctorate of Dental Surgery degree from the University of Maryland School of Dentistry in Baltimore. There, she was selected as an oral surgery clerk and as a member of Gamma Pi Delta National Prosthodontic Honor Society.
Dr. Choi then completed a General Practice Residency at the Veterans Affairs hospital in Philadelphia, PA, expanding her clinical skills in surgery, endodontics, and implantology and serving the veterans of the Philadelphia area.
Dr. Choi is passionate about expanding her skillset through continuing education and actively serving the community through dental volunteering projects. Her goal is to enrich patient’s lives by helping them achieve their best and healthiest smiles. Outside of the office you can find her exploring local restaurants, hiking, cooking new recipes, and spending time with loved ones (including her two cats)!
Dr. Yasmin Akhlaghi is a proud Rockville native. She completed her undergraduate studies at the University of Maryland before heading to Portland, Maine, where she earned her Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) from the University of New England College of Dental Medicine.
Seeking warmer weather and hands-on experience, Dr. Yasmin Akhlaghi completed a one-year residency in Advanced Education in General Dentistry (AEGD) through the NYU Langone program in Fort Myers, Florida. During this time, she provided essential dental care to underserved communities. Though the beach was tempting, her dental journey ultimately brought her back home to Rockville, Maryland, where she now practices general dentistry.
Known for her attentiveness and compassionate care, Dr. Yasmin treats every patient with the highest level of respect and dedication. She is committed to lifelong learning and regularly attends continuing education courses to enhance her skills and stay current with advances in the field.
Dr. Yasmin is an active member of the American Dental Education Association (ADEA), the Maryland State Dental Association (MSDA), and the Southern Maryland Dental Association (SMDA).
Outside of dentistry, Dr. Yasmin enjoys practicing yoga, traveling with her husband and family, and spending time with her Cavapoo, Hazel.
